Shepherd's Keep

Shepherd's Keep is a currently under
reconstruction. They had been operating for over 2 years as a home for
abandoned babies from birth to six month. They outgrew their building
and thus began creation on the new Shepherd's Keep which will house up
to 60 babies at a time. The new home should be complete in the near
future, however, they are still in need of funds from donors to finish
the building and get all the medical and baby supplies needed. The
home will have special care units to care for babies in need of
incubators, oxygen and other special needs. The goal is for all the
children to receive the care and love they need while loving homes are
found for them.
Cheryl and Colin Pratley, the founders of
Shepherd's Keep, advocate that every baby has the right to loving
arms, a warm crib and a full tummy, regardless of their HIV status or
life expectancy.
The aim of Shepherd's Keep is threefold,
-
to provide loving, excellent care for abandoned
babies and to work with social workers to find parents for all
babies.
-
to comfort and care for terminally ill babies and
provide hospice care.
-
to train caregivers from poverty stricken areas
and impact HIV infection rate with education and counseling through
our Hands of Mercy ministry.

A new baby experiences God's love
We also believe
that every baby has the right to a normal family life and this
is the objective for our healthy babies—to ensure they are
fostered or adopted.

Cheryl and Colin are parents again
Colin and Cheryl Pratley, founders and custodians of Shepherd's Keep, thank you, every
donor, sponsor, intercessor and friend—we cannot do without each and
every one of you. God bless you all.
A warm and
light-filled view from inside Shepherd's Keep speaks of the
care and kind of spirit that will inhabit this building for abandoned
babies.

Finishing off inside is
taking place
HANDS OF MERCY

Hands of Mercy at work
Hands of
Mercy is an operation which
Shepherd's Keep began through the desperate need in rural areas for
the simplest medical supplies.
Post office boxes are filled with basics eg. gloves, bandages,
swabs, water purification tablets etc and distributed via caregivers
into local rural areas - providing a very basic service to the
destitute and very poor in these areas.
Ongoing funding
needed for medicines and training
Hands of Mercy
boxes cost R155 (approximately $24)
to fill with the basic necessities.
